Ham in Pig setup

Does anyone have a ham radio in their pig?

I'd like to see pics of your setup and where you mounted your antenna.

I have a Yaesu 8800 (2 meter) with remote-head and am looking for mounting suggestions.

Hi all,

Since no one has responded to your question, I will pipe-in.

I don't have a FJ55, "just" a FJ40.

I have 2M transceivers in both my 40 and my Tacoma p/u. In the 40 I installed the 2M unit in the spot for the stock AM radio. The current antenna is a 5/8ths wave on a magnet mount on the hood; this will likely be changed to a solid mount this summer. The Tacoma has the 2M unit mounted to the center transmission hump, and has the 5/8ths wave antenna mounted on the driver's side fender.

My HAM "Elmer" (i.e. mentor) has the remote head for a dual band transceiver mounted above the rear view mirror of his Jeep TJ Wrangler.
