Toyotafiberglass.com:
this guy does an awesome job, he's doing a ground up resto-mod on a trekker with a supercharged 5VZ-FE. Talk about drool-worthy!

My only gripe is that he doesn't make first-gen pickup half doors.

Thats a cool 4runner! My dads got a similar toyota pickup he wants to turn into a truggy, I think Ill try to get him to cut off the roof like that.

Thanks, it is great with how much you can see and the air you get, only downside is when you go fast and someone is in front of you and you get pelted with rocks and dust or when it rains :)

Here is the ones I built for the girlfriend's truck. The "latch" is hard to see but it's just a bit of paracord braided and attached to the rod which I just made a loop with. Easy, failsafe, not that clever, but it works. The inside panals I am just going to carpet a bit of board and screw on there and put some carpeting on the top so we don't burn our arms in the summer.

Basicly I was going to do the same for this guy.

Nice first gen! Your girlfriend has a keen eye!
I like the paracord door latch trick, pretty original.
Is that an FJ45LV in the background?

Yeah, it's too bad the other side got Tboned (before we got it) and is ugly as sin. :( Still, it's been an awesome truck for her. Someday we'll swap out the cab and bed and repair it back to pretty on both sides... but until then, it's perfect for what she wanted it for, camping and light off roading.

Nope, not an FJ45LV... I wish it was. It's a 62 Willys Wagon... my dad desided that they should have something that stnads out for a company truck. They bought the '62 and while looking for parts for it found a perfect undamaged, unrusted, original 1957 2x4 with no drivetrain. So the '62 is kinda just sitting here now until we fix it. It runs, but has rust and some body damage and it was sprung over. So the 57 will get restored, and that one will become my dad's new camping/fishing/playing truck.

Ouch! That's bad.
There's a guy parting out an 83 here in Santa Rosa (Toyota Part Out 1983 1st Gen 4x4) for some reasonable prices, if you'd like to talk cabs with him. I'm always prowling for first gen parts in the area, if there's anything you need, let me know, and It'll tell you what I find.

I remember the Willys wagons you were talking about in an earlier thread, I think your dad had a great choice of a distinctive vehicle.
