Nothing too unique, a M416 clone, Started it about a year ago, got put away while we built the shop, finally got back to it this last few months and it's coming out great so far. Building this with a friend, who will keep it when it's done. Then we hopefully will build a 2nd one for me and I'll sell my M416.

Got the fame built last summer, but didn't get back to it until this summer due to building a shop, but finally got the suspension hung and an axle on it. The axle is made with FJ40 dumb brake spindles. We got it with parts FJ40, that a shop had used to make it a roller. The hubes and everything were left on to match the FJ40. I am not really a huge fan of the axle, but it was free so we used it.

Welded the sides and back onto the body, as well as the rectangle tube around the top to keep the body stiff, and act as a flat spot so the lid will seal up.

The rear will be cut for a tailgate, but for now I left the tube on to keep the body stiff and square until I make the fenders to support it.

And finally, front steps, and fenders, and this is about where I'm at today. Next week I'm hoping to finish up the fenders, and the tailgate, and can start on the lid. Once those are done, it's off to be painted and we can do the wiring and lights and be ready for camping next summer.

It's going to be painted to match the olive FJ40 in the first post.

Looks great, nice welds......and fabrication....

what gauge did you use for the steps. I’m going to do some steps and was wondering how thick to go and what to do about traction.

The steps are .120 wall 1.5 sqaure tube, with 10g tops. They are tough. :)

Excellent, I like watching skilled people work.

Pretty much what I will build when I get a wagon, hopefully this summer.

Thank you. This is a very fun project, I highly recommend building a trailer!

We got the fenders finished, the real tires and wheels on it, and the lid done in the last month. It's coming along nice. We are going to get lights on it, and a tailgate this week, and then it's more or less done. I think we'll build a swing out at some point as well, but after the tailgate and lights we'll take it to the DMV to get plates and registered.

Then take it all apart, and paint it. :)

Not much has happened in the last two weeks. I've been sick as hell, and things have been busy. Hopefully next week we get that tailgate on it and it can get painted.
