You live in Florida? Just cut the top off and put one of those full bikini/patio umbrella tops on like Ricardo Montalbon had on the Fantasy Island Volares.

Thats the plan if I ever roll the pig...or if a tree finds my roof.

Lithium Grease

Mine were brutal when I first bought it. Driver and passenger sides. I removed the door pannels and cleaned everything up. Hunks of old solidified grease and all sorts of gunk in there. Put a good coat of lithium grease on everything and closed it up.

That was at least four years or so ago. They still work nice and smooth.

I think anything short of opening, cleaning and greasing will be a temporary fix.

Good luck, Gordo

Professional advice from this glass shop owner - white spray grease on all the regulator joints. Have to remove the door panel, obviously. If the joints are rusty, use liquid wrench first.

I'm guessing from your welding escapades that you won't take it anywhere, but if you can't make it work any better (& you're just quieting the noise in the right front seat), take it to a good auto glass shop. They know more about windows than any auto repair shop or dealer.

What about power windows?

Does any body else have a problem with the power windows on a FJ62 going up and down rrrreeeeaaaallllyy slllloooooowwwww? What to do, what to do?

Hey tinker if that doesnt work I'll just use duct tape to keep her mouth from moving.

Power windows what are those???

haha, Ive been in a few 62's, they all held the worlds record for slowest windows.

I would also like to register my world record with someone. you seem as good as any other so file that right away for me will ya'.

Power window problems:
Check all electrical connections & wires - possible bad ground, etc.
Liquid Wrench & white grease all joints.
Possible switch problem.
Lastly, the motor.

Lowtide - my wife was yelling this summer about the noise from my tool box rattling around due to the clapped-out suspension. I told her I could fix that easily with $ & time. It was the noise from the right front seat I can't seem to stop. She shut up.

Semi hijack

All of my door locks seem to be a little tough to unlock. Any suggestions for lubing?

Tinker,
You have such a way with words

You ARE an inspiration!!!

is your key worn badly? I know my doors are hard to open with the copies...

Yeah it is. With the new and old key I can get it to unlock but turning it is a bitch. I am worried I will break the key off inside.
