Had rec. for 92 4runner calipers. Do I get fj rotors or 4runner?

I've searched but seem to find differing answers on the 4Runner calipers.
It seems that some say you need an additional backing plate to use these larger calipers on an 76 FJ40, does that seem right?

I need new rotors as mine are well shot, would these larger calipers use stock LC rotors or would you then use the 4runner rotors also.

Do the pads that come with "loaded" calipers from autozone or discount seem to be effective enough or is there a more name brand that would be preferred? :bounce:

Welcome.

Stock rotors will work just fine.

You do not need to 'stack' or 'add' backing plates....you need to open up the area on the existing backing plate where the caliper fits, as the 4runner calipers are a bit larger.

The pads that come with the loaded calipers will work just fine.
