Metal-tech 4x4 sliders always have DOM round tube, never ERW or HERW.
Design: Its a fine line for making sliders to protect the truck and work as a step, YET not stick out too far that they are #1 something you hit the back of your leg on getting out. (Or worse yet your significant other hits the back of their leg on a road grimed slider on a night out) #2 not too wide they become limiting on some obstacles. For steps our sliders are designed to work this way in the way we normally would use a step and that is with the doors open. Its a much larger step this way, but for washing the car etc. it still works too with the doors closed, just not as large of an area. (Yet not pontoons on the trail)
Performance off road: Every part of MT4x4 or OPOR sliders is ramped for engaging obstacles. Its why we have them in the first place. The main bodies are NOT blunt on the leading or trailing ends. Same for the kick outs, everything is ramped front AND rear. We do have to back up some times and a flat portion of a slider becomes a rock hook. Sure it’s cheaper to cut 90* main bodies or have a flat part of the “kick out” but its not worth it when you are using them and need to back up past something. (This is where doing and wheeling for 20yrs comes in for MT4x4)
MT sliders are usually stocked so no waiting and MT4x4 has been one of the longest sponsors of Ih8mud since the day Woody ask for the industry to step up and support this great board. We are proud of this and continue to support Mud directly.
