I just built one for a friend but don't remember exactly. This rack is 52" to the outside of the rails if that helps:

The distance between feet is about 52 1/2" Its pretty consistent from front to back. The gutters curve down as you get about a foot from the windshield though, so if its to be a flat full length rack the front feet will need to be a little taller, and taper down at the front.

Of course as Douglas S mentioned the best way to get a really accurate fit is either slotted mounts (for sided to side and up/down if you're getting carried away), or lay something flat across the roof at the points you're planning to put the feet and measure it out yourself.

On my 6.5 ft. long Confer rack I just measured the feet at the edges that hit the inside of the gutter: 52.5 in. at the back. 52.2 in. at the front. I would consider this a rough approximation of the gutters, since this rack can flex a bit. Also, the front and rear feet on mine are only 4 ft apart along the length of the rack, and I do not mount my rack far forward; I expect the gutters to get narrower as you get closer to the A pillar. I concur on the slotted mounts.

Ok thanks. The problem is I'm going with the look of the Inti rack and I'm using 2" aluminum c channel for the side. i think slotted won't be an option due to the fact that the mounts will need to mount on the side mostly of the c channel. Guess I'll need to take a ride again to my buddy's house to see how inti compensated for these issues.
