I got in on this a few months ago and am about 90% happy with it. It is glitchy from time to time, like not powering on, or not recognizing your phone with carplay, but seems to reset itself when you turn the car on and off. I emailed customer service and they responded to me within hours. I needed software and firmware updates, and it's hung up once since then.

If you are using it for an iphone, it does come with a USB cable to plug your lightning cable into. Later, i picked up a USB receiver to discretely dash mount it. I replaced the right 12V (cig lighter?) with this adapter and so far so good. You'll want this adapter during initial install so you don't have to take your dash apart twice.

Good video for dash removal, including lower 12V access:

trim tools. NOTE: I wasn't the first owner of this car, so it became clear to me that the dash was disassembled in the past. As these trucks are 11+ years old, the plastic can be in questionable condition. I managed to crack the wood on the left A/C vent, even after doing this before, KNOWING where the flex point was in the middle, so use your trim tools and take your time.

I've got one installed on my '05 and I've been pretty happy with it. Only real issue is that because of the screen resolution of the older units, Google Maps won't run natively on the device without crashing. It does however work well running through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can sideload an older version of Google Maps that supposedly works or you could download other navigation software as well. Waze works too. The '08-'09 trucks have better screens which supposedly don't have that problem.

I do need to contact them and ask about my microphone, as my mic quality is horrible. Folks calling though Carplay can't understand me well and the voice commands rarely work.

But this fulfilled my goal of having a "modern" infotainment solution without changing the original look/design of the car and allowing me, an admirer of gadgets, to have the historical technology intact while allowing me to enjoy modern conveniences.

I've been debating getting one for our 2010 Lexus IS. Do you think Grom would allow me to join the group buy but purchase a different model?

Does anyone know of a VLine expert in SoCal area?

I have a VLine V1 for my 06 GX470 that crashed when I did the latest firmware update. I got instructions for a fix from Grom, but it’s all foreign language to me.
