Finally opened window, temperatures dropped down outside,
Lexi developed , scratching sound while driving and turning left , pretty noticeable from outside for sure , like I mentioned, I was driving with open window, and every left turn , light turn or heavy turn ... scratch .
Please tell me , this is only rock or debris behind rotor shield ?
Please , please 😕😕

Check your belt and maybe power steering fluid pump. That tends to happen as the weather gets colder.

Only when turning left , at any speed, I swear it’s coming from left wheel 🤨

Give the parking brake a medium momentary pull and see if the noise changes.

If brakes were just redone and the p-brake was adjusted or the rear rotors were replaced it may be scraping with a side load.

I’m currently going through this with mine. If I adjust the p-brake so that you don’t have to pull it to almost full travel it makes the scratching/light scraping noise while cornering. If I loosen the adjustment the noise goes away.

I am about to take it apart and grind a little off the sides of the p-brake shoes to provide better clearance. I also have some super sticky brake shoe material. I am going to remove the shoe material and put some of this on. IMHO 200 series p-brake is kind of lame and I’m hopeful this will fix it.

Check front, all good...
After another test drive with open windows, I ‘m sure , it’s coming from the back ...
99% brake pads

nope ...
so .. brake pads 50% (rear) , replaced anyway , initially when puling out of garage , was some noise , like sand coming down on steel plate , test drive OK ! , no more noise , what the hell was that ???:(
did tires rotation same time .

it was fine for a while , last left turn before my driweway , i open window and .... f--k !! noise is back .
my driveway is on small angle , always use hand brake . So ... take lexi for a spin around the block , couple waves left and right , all good , first hard left turn ... good , second ...good, third...... scratching are back !!
something has to do with hand brake ... i think.
what I should do next ?
hand brake could use some adjustments , engaging at the highest point .
new hand brake shoes , or adjustment only ?

Can you record the noises? Additionally, considering buying (or renting) some chassis ears to compare the noise from different components.

done .. no changes ...

yep...... P brake service on the way

I recently replaced the rear rotors on my truck, along with pads. On the first test-drive, the truck had some pretty horrible scratching and grinding noise.

Long story short, the noise was coming from the inside of the rotor rubbing on the dust shield. Specifically, it was outside lip of the rotor part where the parking brake shoes touch the rotor.

You'd need to remove the caliper and rotor to see if there is rubbing here, but you'll be doing that anyway if you are servicing the parking brake.

Also, FYI - Pulling the parking brake changed the sound on my truck.

I fixed it with a couple whacks with a hammer to bend the dust shield away from the rotor by a hair.

Found the problem ‼️And reason way ....
It’s rust related.... of course.
Hand brake back plate did touch the rotors in 2 o clock position and 8 o clock position.
Rust is building between axle flange and back plate , deformed plate a little, this time just a tap on the plate fix the problem, I’m not ready to pull the shaft , disassemble back plate and clean it ....I know you guys warned me about salt belt 😡😡😡😡
