I just wanted to give you guys an update on my "status". I had my doctor's appointment this morning and received mostly good news.

My right leg is almost completely healed. My left leg is healing but, not as fast as my right leg. The break in my left femur was down low by the knee and that just takes more time to heal. He (my doctor) did say that he is starting to see some "action" around the break which means that it is starting to heal. I am cleared to get up on crutches and I have an appointment tomorrow morning with my physical therapist to do so.

I probably won't be on crutches full time (especially if it is raining or something) but, I can start using them. I can pretty much go full weight bearing on my right leg and I can put about 20lbs on my left leg or about 1/5th of my weight (no weight jokes).

So, all in all good news...it would have been nice if both legs were fully healed...but, given where the left leg broke...it is just going to take additional time. So, thanks for everyone's prayers...and please continue to keep me in your prayers as my left leg continues to heal and I start getting up on crutches.

I guess the only bad news was that I am not cleared to go to Cruise Moab at the end of this month. My left leg is just not healed enough to travel...but, I should be good to go by June for the Razor Back Ramble!

Cheers.

good stuff

Awesome news ! once you are able to use the crutches more you should find that the left leg will start to heal a little faster as long as you don't go crazy and wear your self out.

Whacha gonna do with that sweet wheelie chair?!

Hail yeah! Excellent news.

Whacha gonna do with that sweet wheelie chair?!

We're gon' take turns ridin' it down the power line trail at the Ramble :steer:

Don't worry...I am definitely not going to do anything to jeopardize my recovery. I am passing on Cruise Moab for that very reason. I am pretty confident that the leg will heal faster once I am up as well...at least that is the plan.

I am going to hold onto that bad boy...in the event some freak accident occurs again.

I'll let you boys do that...my doctor said one thing this morning that I took to heart..."I don't like to see my patients in the ER more than once". I am pretty sure that would be a quick way to get back to the ER in a hurry.

Thanks for the well wishes guys and here's to the Razor Back Ramble!

Great news! See you at the Ramble.

Great news! See you at the Ramble.

I am going to see you before that at the Crawfish Boil at your house next month! Can I bring the wife and the dogs...they are extremely well behaved and trained when they are not accidentally running me over. As far as the wife...she has me trained.
