Will it fit?

Hmmmm...

The story is I've got a Gobi rack for my 4Runner that I'm replacing with my NEW TO ME 2016 Land Cruiser. Has anyone ever tried to mount a 4Runner rack on a Land Cruiser?

The details.

Gobi Stealth 4Runner
Length: 88"
Width: 45"
Height: 3"

Gobi Stealth Land Cruiser 200
Length: 89"
Width:
- front 45"
- rear 43"
Height: 3"

So obviously Gobi has tapered the rear rack an each on each side. But... Does it need to be?

The Frontrunner rack is 49.4" wide all the way down.
The Eezi Awn K9 is 55" all the way down.

Granted both of those are platforms that mount on rails so that's a bit of a different situation but it does show that it shouldn't be too weird to have the same width all the way down.

I'm going to hit the rack with the tape measure tomorrow and see if I can make it work. Maybe get custom brackets?

Any thoughts or things to consider here?

Cheers!

Ok here's a gratuitous driveway photo since I just got it and put some KO2s on it. Because what good is a post without a photo?

Meh just looking at pictures of the two mounting instructions. They look very different. Since the Gobi racks have specific mount points that are supposed to line up with the factory mount points it just won't match up without some serious welding skills which I have none of.

Oh well sell the rack. Look for something for the LC. I'm hoping to mount an Alu Cab Gen3 up there. Maybe I'll look at the 80/20 rack thread again and see if that will hold a tent and a couple people.
