GM 1 wire alternator

Does anyone know of any one wire GM alternators that are a direct swap in at least that I don't need to make a new bracket?

Looks like my alternator got tired of trying to charge that optima....

I'm going through the forums now... but perhaps someone knows off the top of their head.

hmm....guy I know got a 100 amp alt from pc auto that bolted right on, was pretty cheap I think....
I'll ask him if he knows.

He aint the sharpest knife in the drawer , so he probably won't have any idea....

( and he makes Jay look like a little feller, but hes' used to my abuse, so I'm not overly worried about him reading this....)


on second thought, you're running one of those antiquated POS's with spark plugs arent you?

yep I got spark plug things in it... all cuz your 3b was looking so happy in the goat barn when I was there... and I don't have the cash to find a 3b that isn't posing as a goat

A bosche AL656x (approx $150) should go in really easily only a little bit of grinding and a bit of wiring.

Sounds like it is approximately 100A output.

Two questions:

1. Does anyone know of anything better (higher output /cheaper)
2. Does anyone have somewhere out of the rain I could put it in tomorrow?

Too Tall (Abel) put one in I think out of an Eagle Talon. Contact him and he will tell you for sure. $75 from a wrecker.

well what did you eventually put in and how easy was it?

I eventually found one that would fit quite easily with GM 1 wire... 140 amp but I didn't get it because I realized that I'm an idiot... and the belt was just loose !
