Beno -
I think you screwed up the shipping on my power steering pump for the 80...

I was hoping there was gonna be a bottle of woodford in there to aid in the installation. ;)

All other cruiser heads reading this - Onur makes it simple to order and even knows the extra little parts to order like the o ring for the pump to block and the updated washer bling for the HP hose fitting. The best part was the pump was only slightly more than what advance auto wanted for their piece o crap beck arnley pump

Thanks Onur. You da man!

We all know what happens when BK hits the Woodford Reserve. ;)

Glad I could assist sir.

Folks:

Just to clarify a few things (this question comes up a lot in conversation as well as email) regarding what happens when you order parts from me.

1. You call/email/PM and place an order with me. If I have the parts, they will depart my facility that same day (if before 2pm EST) or the next day.

2. If parts have to be ordered, they will come out of my depot in Jacksonville, FL to me then to you.... A one day process.

3. or, they will be referred/backordered first to one of the many depots Toyota has in the US or, more than likely, to the "Japan warehouse" in Ontario, California. This is the depot that all Japanese parts come in to in the US before being distributed either to other depots or direct ships to actual dealer parts departments. This process generally takes anywhere from 2-5 business days.

3. Then there is the final "refer/backorder." This is when the part is not available in the US and has to come directly from the vendor in Japan. Sometimes this takes a few days, sometimes it takes a few months (I waited 2 months for 1FZ-FE oversized pistons late last year from supplier ART).

Regardless of the situation, after I place an order it takes usually 24 hours for me to know a rough ETA on the parts. And with Toyota, ETA's really are estimated. Sometimes I have gotten parts significantly quicker than the ETA and sometimes much later.

Also, another thing to realize: many times we are dealing with trucks that are 30-40 years old. Don't expect to get parts ASAP to get your car running. Sometimes it does take awhile to get parts and that's the unfortunate reality of the situation. Planning ahead is going to be very important.

As I tell folks all the time, please be patient in the part procurement process. I will do everything on my side to expedite parts to you, but knowing the process should have some educational value to clients and customers in terms of understanding what exactly is going on after you place and order with me.

Wanting a diff shaft for a 1971 FJ40 is not going to be something that I am going to be able to get for you overnight.

That said, I do stock lots and lots of parts that are what I call consumables: plugs, wires, dizzy caps, rotors, gaskets, seals, bearings, oil filters, etc. for most all Land Cruisers in stock. I always stock an H55F or 2 as well. ;)

Hope this clarifies a certain aspect of ordering Toyota parts from me.

Thanks for your continued patronage.

Folks:

One man down this week and a busy shop= trying to keep my head above water! We are very short staffed this week and also down a shipping and receiving guy.

Emails/PMs will be best for parts quotes this week. Phone calls after 3pm EST through 7pm EST. Or before 7AM EST (I usually get here by 630AM).

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Everyone order small obscure parts from Beno this week, lets all try to call at the same time too say starting at 3pm?!

Please don't!! I am having a hard enough time trying to convince my own technicians that 2wd Tundras do not have front drive shafts and that they only need to replace ujoints when they come in asking for front and rear driveshafts.

Be afraid...be very afraid of the future.

Fortunately, they have a very good parts team to tell them how to understand the vehicle on their lift..

As i've always said, good mechanics and parts guys are very hard to find these days. As CDan says, good parts guys aren't found they are made and molded.
