Want to buy one this week, CVT is about a 1000 bucks the Camping Labs is a bit over 800... Are they both about the same... The same size ezi awn is 2K can't justify an extra grand, thqt will buy a lot of other stuff for the rig!!

thanks Gary

There are some pretty good review of the Camping Lab. I believe the CVT is similar. Most of the $1000 RTT are pretty similar, materials, country of origin. When you start into Ezi Awn and Hannibal materials get a lot more heavy duty. Price as well. Im not saying they are worth it or not. I havent got one yet, cant decide if I want to spent that kind of money for either.
Good luck.

Why dont you try out some RTTs? We rent all Autohome models, Simpson lll and soon the Howling Moon tents...

Gary - I carry Mombasa tents which are in the same price range and very similar to what you are looking at. Southeast Overland is also a vendor and supporter of MUD! :D We ship anywhere in the US and have pretty darn good shipping rates. If you are interested let me know and I'll see what we can do for you.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about any of the Mombasa RTTs. I use the Overland version and love it. Prices start at $799 for the basic 2-man model, $899 and you upgrade to poly-cotton, $999 and you upgrade to the Overland version with a larger covered entry. There is also a 3-person tent available but most go for the 2-person varieties. My RTT is mounted on a BajaRack FJ Cruiser expedition rack but they easily mount to just about any rack (just make sure the rack is strong enough). A customer even whipped up a custom mounting bracket for his Mog last week which worked great this past weekend.

I agree on supporting Mud vendors.
Your location might help us point you in the best direction.
Personally I have a Mombasa RTT and a Camping Labs RTT, Both have suited me quite well, Our Mombasa is the old style that could fit 4 people tightly and our Camping Labs is only a 2 person.
Like many have said Many of the newer RTT's are very similar.
Best of luck.

Mombasa has a 3 adult RTT available now. It looks almost identical to the 2 person RTT but is larger.

If you do go with a 3 person RTT such as the Mombasa be prepared for it to take up the entire roof area of your vehicle. A 2 person allows for a little room left over to mount gas, containers, etc.

Hmmm, ScottReb, if the best T-shirt is a primary criteria for which company to purchase a rooftop tent from, IMHO Top-Tent.com has it hands down.

It does hurt that we also have the only DIY, USA made, folding style tent unit, The MOAB available.
