@onedaatmc can I fly you to Michigan to wet sand and polish a FJ62 I finished last summer? I'll provide a place to stay and food...

@onedaatmc , is there a measurement of paint thickness that you suggest before sanding….such as, once you get to ‘x’, don’t mess with it?

I'm retired , but thanks for offering !

I bought some replacement mirrors for my 80 series. I painted them with multiple coats of duplicolor perfect match Toyota 045 white followed by multiple coats of the perfect match clear coat. I followed it up by polishing with chemical brothers c4 and p4 polish. Although they are nice and shiny after polishing they don't have the same mirror finish as the rest of the paint on my 80 series. How can I go about getting a better finish?
The paint on the white (045) 80 series is not 2K, it's single stage. And it's not the paint that shines, it's the clearcoat. If your newly painted mirrors aren't shining like the rest of the paint, it's becuase the clearcoat isn't the same. FWIW, you cannot get a professional shine from a rattle can.
