Seems the 25 section is slow so I'll ask over here. Whats the skinny on how to wire up the new alternator and voltage regulator on a previously generator equipped early 25/40? I have an externally regulated alternator and a 64-71 voltage regulator. I can handle the mounting but need guidance on the wiring. Thanks for the help!

If you want to use a Toyota alternator, you will have to do quite a bit of wiring to make the conversion. Your best bet is have the two pertinent wiring diagrams in front of you and figure out what you want to do. There are going to be many ways to skin the cat.

GM sells a one-wire alternator that is ideal for this application, and is widely used in the classic car industry.

fox let me know what you find out . I want to go one wire on my 87' 2f. I think 1 wire will look the cleanest on the 25. get it back on the road!

it was very easy on my 64 45lv, just got new Toy alt(took me 2 trys to get the correct on) and reg and replaced them, the holes were even on the firewall to mount the reg, took maybe 1 hour
