So we picked up a 2007 Sequoia for my wife's dd doing kids and errands, as well as its our off road rig. We go offroad maybe 6-10 times a year on Virginia mountain roads and trails, nothing extreme.

We want to do a build on it, but keep driveability somewhat in tact. Normally we really like 3-4" lift and 35's, but wonder if this can be done while keeping the somewhat OEM feel of the truck.

So if we do want to go with a 34" or 35" tires and 3+ inches of lift, can this be done while keeping road manners or do we need to stick to 2.5" and 285/70?

If you run 35x10.5r17, you should be fine with a 2.5” lift so long as you cut out (or hammer back) the pinch welds. For comparison, I have a 2”-2.5” lift and after cutting back the pinch welds, my 33s have more than enough clearance for 35s. As for drive-ability, if you stick with Load C tires it’ll keep the ride closer to OEM. I’m sure others will chime in with their experiences.
