Our new 2026 FJ has just over 1000km on the clock. We drove to KZN this weekend, and found that the gearbox does not behave well on open roads. At 120km/h, it changes down on the smallest incline, and then holds the lower gear long after it should have changed up. It's noisy and wastes fuel. One option would be to get the box remapped, but that voids the warranty. No idea if/when Toyota might issue new map settings. Does anyone have any ideas about a possible solution?
