@slcfj62 has been gone from this forum for a few years now. Which is really too bad. Cuz he could make a blind man see when he explained things electrical to a mental midget like me.

Well mystery solved. After spending two days virtually dismantling the entire vehicle and throwing a few tools, I found the problem with the help of a friend with a lot more common sense than me. When I reinstalled the front drivers seat after reupholstering it, the seat bracket pinched the pigtail connector from the shifter assembly that is located very near the front right seat bracket. See attached photo. Unbelievable. Thanks to everyone for their input and advice. Two photos attached.

so thes wires got grounded, but didnt pop the fuse?

Im having the same issue. Alternator regulator went bad and my voltage gauge would intermittently shoot up to 16v at times.
1. had the alternator rebuilt.
2. bought a new battery
3. Realized my fusible link was fried. It also looked like someone replaced a wire with regular wire and not fuible wire. So I purchased cruiser trash's fusible link replacement kit.

All fuses are good. Still no parking lights or dash lights. Inspected as much as I could. Didnt visually see anything... please help!

Thanks

I just got done chasing down a similar symptom (no marker lights/ no dash lights/ popped 15A Tail Fuse). Found a short to ground in two spots (at least). The culprit wire (green or green w/ blk stripe) was easy to identify as it showed signs of heat in various places.

Check behind driver-side interior kick-panel AND behind cluster. I found a a junction point where the green feed from the fuse junctioned with multiple (other) green wires. The wire had given and was able to find ground.

Replaced all the shot green wires and good to go.
