I have 93 (ur right its VSS)...95+ instrument clusters don't work with my 93... been down that road trying to replace my broken clusters.
Learn the hard way and wasted $ on a 96 cluster.

I swear I’ve seen a gauge cluster with the PRNDL all the way to the left not straight down the center like on almost all the clusters I’ve seen. Maybe that was a different markets auto cluster… or maybe when I eat edibles I get more confused than Joe Biden.

There are way too many different clusters.

Pretty sure if they fit physically (and that I am not sure of), you can make them work one way or another electrically. For example I have switched an electronic speedometer from a 1993 to a 1992 mechanical driven cluster, while it was not exactly pretty (it was just temporary), it was possible. The FSM is beautifully specific about the wiring -- no pun inteded, it really is, so if the connectors don't fit (and pretty sure they won't) you can rewire them so most of the indicators and needles will work correctly. It's not CAN driven, so that.

But as to a simple replacement, no way in hell. There are way too many versions available. I mean like 20+ :) I would be genuinely scared a same year, same country, same engine, same trim would not be plug and play swap.
