Here again...
I have an autometer phantom boost gauge that I am hoping to run with my turbo. The gauge reads 7lbs of vaccum as it sits on the bench. Do I need a new gauge? Can it be reset to zero somehow?

thanks,

David

Google "manometer".

It is just two vertical tubes connected with a U shaped tube at the bottom and filled with either water or mercury. In your case, use water. Make it 72" tall and hang it from the wall of your garage. Fill it 1/2 way up with water. Mount 2 yard sticks, one on top of the other right beside it. Put the 1" marks in the middle so that one reads 1-36" down from center, the other 1-36" up from center.

You now have a calibration tool more accurate than most digital pressure sensors. It measures in inches of water. 1" H2O = 0.03608221768775196 psi.

It will measure pressure or vac. Enjoy.

Oh, that one will max out pretty quick. Solution? Make it taller or use a solution with a higher specific gravity.

the gauge is bad..

With as relativly inexpensive as boost gauges are... Get a new one.

You will spend more sending it back to the company than it is worth..

Or you could call Autometer and see if they will warranty it..
