And so can a knife...what is your point?

Those klamps are krap.

Krap, yes. But they're Kinda Kute.

You, and many before you have proven that Kute leaks..

I approach every one with a very sharp side cutter, and render them, because removing them, and throwing them away whole, could lead someone to think that they have found a 'good klamp' which could not be further from the truth. Further, I can not remember how many hoses were leaking, and all but cut through with the wire on those klamps, but it was probably the same primates using the stainless clamps that cut through the hose...

Didn't someone mention over tightening......

If I didn't know better, I'd say you don't like the wire clamps!

There is something wrong with:

A-the pieces being clamped, hose or barb piece, or both

-OR-

B-the individual using the tools

If you need to tighten anything to the point that it damages the hose, in order to get it to seal with any style calmp or klamp.

I would bet B more than A, BUT I also would bet that B is not smart enough to realize that there could be an issue with A causing it to leak, other than the fact that the clamp must not be tight enough..

But here I go again with rational and logic applied to the infinate variable X....

Oh well..

Um,

Well, in my case, yes. But it turned out that it had nothing to do with clamps and rubber tubes. There was a crack in the weld where the vent pipe goes into the (new) gas tank. ??? I just remembered that. Silly me. You are right, it was B). I struggled and struggled trying to get the leak fixed at the hose clamps and hose, then threw a little Right Stuff at the base of the pipe, and voila! Half my clamps are the old wire ones, and half are stainless, and none of them leak, it turns out.
