I have a "goal" of 13 (commuting) for my 86 FJ60 with 32" tires and 331k miles; depending on traffic and weather it varies between 11.5 and 13.5.
Highway mileage varies a lot, too. I'm satsified with 13 on the grades of I70 and US285 west of Denver (running as fast as necessary/possible to stay out of the way) and 14.5 on the flats east of here running 65-68mph. My time all-time highway records are 16.1 between Denver and Omaha running 62mph with a howling tail wind and 16.9 (!) on the secondary roads of Chihuahua state running 45-50mph all day on the back way from Cuahtemoc to Juarez...nothing wrong with Pemex Magna grade.
The few times I've tried to accurately check off-road mileage over the years (fill up just after leaving the highway, one to four days of low-range 4-wheeling, fill up before returning to highway) has yielded between 10.4 and 11.8.

My BJ60 gets about 26-28 in town and about 30 on the hiway

i have 31s and get about 10 mpg....i try not to think about it or i get depressed.
at least my daily drive is short.

i get like 10 but mine hasen't been running so well lately.

that is i get 10mpg in my 60 series. Forgot to specify before.

I get 10 in the city and 15 on the highway. that's on 32's so I think I get another 10pct because the odometer would be off. 88fj62

My 60 gets about 8-10 city & 10-14 Highway(she dosnet get much freeway time, though she easily dose 75-80mph without trying). I gave her a fresh tune-up when I bought last Sept. That mileage is with 32" A/T. I just put 33" M/T's, so my mileage might change.

at 70-75 mph for 100 miles per trip, 18 gallon tank I think ,, about 250 miles per tank with rams horn headers, and 2' ome lift, 31s, barely an exhaust left, and a leaking intake/ehaust,

290k miles on engine about 30k miles on reworked head

:o Freshly tuned 88 FJ62 is ususally 15 MPG at 65-70 and 12-13 in stop and go commuting.

no - friggin - way. is your odometer calcualated properly? that is great mileage and i am jealous :flipoff2:

On my last trip from Bend OR to Santa Cruz CA I avreged 17 miles to the gallon and that was moderately to heavily loaded.
I have a 60 with freshly rebuilt engine, header and 2.5" exhaust, Downey torquer cam, D.U.I., and a good tune.

That is outstanding!

Mine gets about 10 anywhere, but I haven't checked since I cleaned the carb and replaced the air cleaner...hopefully I can at least get 2-3 more. Anything helps!

in maryland, my '85 gets 12 in town and 15 on the highway, cruising anywhere from 65-80mph. i run crown brand 87 octane with a header, non-usa dizz, aisin carb, no smog stuff, an electric fuel pump and 33"x10.5" BFGs.
