I have put about 3K miles on my 95 since I bought it June 1st this year. I keep a log and my average overall mileage is 16.25. It is stock, 207K miles with 265/75R16 tires. About 80% mountain highways and 20% sucky Denver city traffic. I don't baby it and I keep the power switch on at all times and make frequent use of the OD Off button.
I was surprised to see that my truck has a 25 gallon tank per the owner's manual. I always run it onto the empty line (sometimes until the warning light comes on) and it only takes about 20 gallons on. That would mean I have a 5 gallon reserve. I thought that sounded like a lot, but then 5gal x 16.25mpg = 81.25 miles. Suddenly it doesn't seem like so much reserve!
