Dono if there is prior art but I came up with this and its really easy and pretty dam good,

one can bushes mild chili beans (big can to feed 2)
About a third a block of peper jack cheese cut into about 1/4" slices, other cheeses work also,
2 cloves of garlic pressed or finely minced (if you like garlic add more)

Mix together in a pot and heat on medium heat while string until cheese melts and a little more til it just start to bubble up from the bottom while being stired, don't burn the bottom. add a bit of salt near the end brings out flavor,

I eat it with white corn chips,

Too fancy for me LOL

My bean dip as a bachelor was just a can of 50/50 black/pinto rositas, shredded some cheddar in the there, franks red hot, fresh garlic, heatet, stirred until cheese was melted. Sour cream around the edge of the serving bowl for dipp'n :)

RT I'll have to give your recipe a try :D.
