The G or 80 ? We still have the G..... it's on light duty in TX these days...... the 80 is in the hands of a gent bent on building it past where I even knew was possible..... turbo-kit, finetuning suspension and interior etc...

and The Tundra is somewhat built on 37's, but will be getting traded in soon- not impressed with Toyota's position on us Hybrid Tundra owners and not supporting a recall for us... luckily I'm CPO'ed still but....

How has the g wagon been since you've owned it? Thinking of getting one

Our G was a "rescue" - we found it with 90k in Dallas -super clean and no rust but it had not been serviced well..... it took a month of fully baselining the Motor, all new hoses, belts and almost all the accessories like alt, starter, brake booster etc..... and a fully rebuilt tranny from Southern Hotrod... Eurocharged in Austin did the work before Adam and Dave sold ( sadly) and it with a Tune it runs like a top.... the lift /mods and other were a bit over the top - for anyone else I'd suggest a mild 2" set of springs / Koni shocks and run a 33"-34"...... truly fitting 35" w/ full travel and road manners is a slippery slope....and about 10k.

we chose a 55 for the power and ability to fit the front bumper - our prior G63 had 4 intercoolers that precluded that....

AFN bumpers front and rear make it a bit more safe for our deer prone roads, and for parking dings... but AFN's fit and finish/design is less then stellar.

Happy to share more details if useful offline - just PM me.

Appreciate it! Was debating on getting an 02/03 w463 G500 or find a 70 series land cruiser

the solidity of the 500 would move it to the front of my list.... but with a G it's all about finding the right starting point... clean rust free with good service history and no delayed maint or other issues.... the later 70's are neat - it depends on how you plan to use it and it it might be a DD as well....

how is diy maintenance on yours? Are parts and general maintenance super expensive?

It's not too hard for basics - but if it's electrical or bodywork it can get $$$ fast when you need pro's.... having a Merc local Indy shop is a good backup - you've got Eurowise in Charlotte...not cheap, but they got my 4" suspension dialed and fixed a few nagging things- and I love their exhaust setup....makes me laugh every time I go thru a underpass or the VA river tunnels...
