FZJ70 Steering Box

Does anyone know if the steering box for the 1993 FZJ70 (Part # 4411060370) would be interchangeable with the steering box for the FZJ80L (Part # 4411060212). They look exactly the same in the pictures online (Partsouq and eBay.

Cross-reference the pitman arm and that will give you some idea of interchangeability.

Hello,

The 80 Series steering box and its pitman arm are specific to that drivetrain. Keep in mind that 80 Series axles are wider than their 70 Series counterparts.

70 Series steering box and pitman arm are model specific as well.

If you choose to use the 80 Series box, you may have to source the pitman arm as well.

Some fabrication may be necessary, and the setup may not work as expected.

It is better to use the proper part.
