Hey everyone a little while back I purchased and installed a PPD exhaust on my 94 hdj80. Everything went great until I had to bolt up the rear most section of the exhaust. The “S” looking section that is the axle back did not clear my LRA 42 gallon tank. It wouldn’t clear the tank by several inches. Only way to make it fit would’ve been to shorten that section of exhaust, push it forward, or change the angle of the bend. It contacted where the tank is angled approx 45 degrees to clear the factory exhaust. I ended up making a new axle back out of my old exhaust which was 400 series steel which isn’t as shiny and pretty as 300 series stainless steel. Just wanted to update other people who are in the same boat and looking for a 3 inch exhaust while having a LRA Aux tank. I imagine that the 24 gallon tank also would have compatibility issues because it is the same shape, just not as tall. I can add some photos if people are wanting them or interested to see some pics.
