fuel tank

hello, i need a fuel tank for my 1977 fj45, who would have one? new or used ?

There was a guy at the meeting last night that may have one in Calgary. See me Friday or Saturday and we can get a hold of him. I'll be out tonight.

Toyota still carries the mid 70s version if you want new, it should fit.

I have also had good luck with lining the one on my 64. No deterioration yet...

Are the 70s era tanks the same as FJ40s? I know my 67 tank is different from a 67 FJ40. The neck angle is incorrect.

That is one thing to look out for.

They are different in a very minor way. Basically, you bend down a portion of the rear lip to fit... and yes, you might have to make some alterations based upon the fill neck, but it seems minor for having a new tank.

also, I think they might be smaller in gallon total.

I used this tank in my lwb and it worked great, very pleased to have a new tank.

as noted, the lined original in my 64 is performing great too.
