This GM unit linked above - is it a straight bolt in for the factory canister? My daughter is moving to law school with the 97, and I'm smelling gas/getting tank pressure buildup on hot days. If it is, I'll just fire the parts cannon. Thanks.

Kind of, the VC120 is larger than OEM so it doesn’t fit well in the factory bracket. You need longer screws or zip ties to secure it. I replaced mine with the VC120 but dislike the fit and finish so I will be servicing the OEM one and putting it back.

I was asking about the GM unit, not the VC120. I'm OK with some adaptation - longer screws, etc. I just want to ensure the GM one is also that simple to mount. Anyone? Thanks!

The VC120 is for GM cars…. 🙄

The “AC Delco” is about the same dimensions. Plenty of threads here you can read through about each and every vapor canister and mod. They all seem to more or less work and all require some work to fit so I think people just go with the cheapest option. YMMV
