Hi All,
Yesterday while comming out of the woods i lost power and the truck slowed to a crawl and died. I hand pumped the primer fuel pump and she fired right up. In fact i drove it about 30km with no issues. After shutting it down and starting again it once again lost power and i had to reprime the hand pump again. Is this apparent loss of fuel pressure likely the pump? Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Yup yup. Mine had gotten much worse, I remember run starting it around a turn in 3rd gear at one point because it stalled when I clutched in.

Checked fuel filter. All good. The primer pump may be sucking air and killing the prime. I ordered a new primer pump for $50. Hope it works because after that it gets too complicated. Truck going on Kijiji as soon as i get it running agian. Going to buy something more reliable. Cant work on it myself and local mechanics are all inept.

Ok, i will. It ran well yesterday but i am not convinced it wont come back after anther 50km run. Its probably sucking some air somewhere or something is blocked like you say. Sucks becuase i am afraid to take it anywhere.
