Fuel Percolation/Leak Down? 283SBC Fuel-in-Oil Woes

Yep, I have a similar one pegged to order. That "double gasket" is actually one gasket (they're fused) so there isn't really a leak issue.

I ran the engine for quite a while last night messaging with the distributor/timing - the carb stayed fairly cool. I also didn't see any fuel dribbling down the primaries after shutdown. Then again, the hood was also up and the air cleaner off, so it's not really as good a test as running it at temperature with the hood over the engine bay.

I'm going to confirm the correct advance on the timing before I do anything further. Finding out the distributor was loose was something if a show stopper.
 
@Snowdogyyz - I wonder if I could run a return line back through the original charcoal canister or if that would be more trouble than it's worth.
