just brought my diesel TTD lc to the dealership and they said it was knocking sound that I am hearing. It’s not the high pressure pump nor is it any of the hydraulic lifters.. they said it was fuel knock... but our engines have a knock sensor doesn’t it? That should alert the engine of the knocking and allow the ecu to adjust appropriately... what could be wrong if it’s not adjusting enough? Where is the knock sensor placed anyway? Could t be an engine software update perhaps? I am not actually sure the Diesel engine has a knock sensor but I know for a fact that high tech Diesel engines should have minimum diesel clatter due to the computer control of the injection....
