I really need to get an FSM but I’ve got a simple question. What direction should the fuel filter be on an 80 with a 3FE? The filter is currently positioned to flow gas (in terms of direction) from the front of the truck to the back. Thinking now, I should have just followed the lines to make sure the input was from the tank… Anyways just wanted to ask…

Should be an arrow on the filter? Engine's in the front, tank's in the back - if I'm confused, just follow the fuel line. Arrow on the filter points toward the engine.

The tophat part of the filter on mine was pointed towards the tank.

PO also impacted the banjo's on and made for a nice shower when I cracked the front one, and then impacted the rear..... one bolt on the filter holder and it was the slide in one..... it sheared off the frame, spun around and I took a gas shower. Thank god for eye protection, lol.

I couldn't even brake them with an extension on a wrench, so that's why I impacted em. Ultimately, had to disconnect the hose on the frame, put the filter in a vice and then I was able to use a cheater bar.
