Our Toyota land cruiser colorado engine would not run above idle. Detected T code P1226 was the fail limit valve passing 160ml/min.
What caused the faulty running in the first instance was never found by the so called disel specialist TT autos Loughborough. They said £1200 for the pump recon alone without any othjer charges such as pump out and in £600..... what the job needed when this vehicle was driven to them with reported 'flat spots' was a correct diagnostic of the fuel lines being abnormal. The feed to the filter was partially blocked the return completely blocked and that was two mechanics seperately missdiagnosing the situation.
It was reported by telephone after TT had refitted the renovated pump = the fuel pressure was too high. They reorted they did not know why and advised me to contact the pump renovator who really is a genuine specialist. I was not surprised that 'they' would not engage with TT and advise them whatsoever.
TT suggetsed shall we remove the pump again in the circumstance...... I said what would that achieve? I suggested they stop what they were doing to that vehicle and I would have it collected. I dove it there 20 miles but it would not dive back here to home.
After meticulous cleaning of tank and all lines and new injectors it would not accellerate but idle was smooth.
After months I conducted a spill test =injectors and limit/ relief valve. I saw the fault that is said to have been caused by too high pressure but that is ignored by TT who do not accept negligence.
Denso will not supply an appropriate relief valve seperate to the complete rail...... That is supposed to be for safety but later rails can be supplied with seperate relief valves==== Please do any of you 1KG FTV engine owners know who supplies the common rail M22 x 1.5 safety/ relief valve. I would think the rail material is cast steel which seems incapable of destruction... An expert said why not block it as the USA do.... worst is a pipe will bust. I would not feel safe with a block done on a safety valve wold you?
