I thought about modifying a spout to do something similar, then I found the super siphon and went that way. More universal, and no pressurization needed. I know I've seen them for drums in the past, but I don't think they are sold anymore because of the potential to split a drum. OSHA regulations tend to get rid of products that are potentially quite dangerous.

Utility can gasket. ;)
Swiss Army Vehicles - Detailed Part View
Somewhere they were selling them in groups of 3 to 6 for a few bucks. I was thinking it was Swiss Army Vehicles. If you have somebody that can cut you some viton sheet, you could use that. The extra seals I have are 5mm thick. The one I replaced is warn down about 1mm. Yeah, I kept it to serve as a template in the future. Looking at it you may be able to flip it over and have it work.

I ordered one on 4/14/2011, paid via paypal, mailed 4/18/2011 and recievered 5/4/2011. Had to go the the gas station that night to fill one of my 20 l cans and used a bicycle pump. Best thing since flush toilets!

Looks kind of complicated Wiz.

I have two NATO jerrys on the back of my 40 and I simply leave em there, pop the cap and insert one of these...

The only effort involved is jiggling the valve a couple of times.

By the time the Tanami thingy is all hooked up, I'd have already emptied half of the first jerry can.

No pressurisation, no mess, no fuss, quick and easy.

The only downside for blokes without mounted jerrys is that, like all siphon systems, the fuel can needs to be above the fuel filler on the vehicle for it to work.

Roberto:

Try fitting a wider diameter hose to your super siphon. Better flow rate ;)

Craigwanderer,
You know what they say, "Complex does not always mean difficult!". If it were all about speed I would install an auxiliary gas tank and then all I would have to do is flip a switch. Which would be done before you jiggled your first giggle.
