Taking my factory soft doors apart.

Any tips on removing the metal channel that holds the seals and the canvas?
The screws that are holding them are weak and strip out easy.

Any ideas on getting this thing out with out ruining the door?

Need to get this stuff off to the paint / body shop

Thanks

Destin

Once you get the all the weatherstripping off you should see small phillips screws holding out channel to the main frame of the doors. If they won't come out I would try a small dremel to grind the heads off the heads. You can use new screws and drill new holes. Take your time you should be able to get it apart without destroying it.

Thanks :)

I will dremel them out carefully as you suggested.
Thanks for the help :D

almost there , this stuff has been slowly driving me crazy :)

let me know if you find a place to order those seals.. the soft rear ambi doors use the same ones

Seals are discontinued :(

I have found one side seal at a shop, need to pick it up.

Have emailed a few rubber shops looking to have them manufactured.
Have heard nothing back so far :(

Meaning to ask Eshan about some.
I saw that a few doors he made had them.
So he might have a lead on them.
But he is pretty hard to get a hold of :(

yea i asked alex (southboston) to get a couple sets for me but I haven't heard back yet - I realize that route will probably take a while so it would be cool to find a place here in the U.S. that has em

Yeah I am thinking it is best to have some made.
JohnnyC gave me a sample, And I have been emailing some rubber shops asking about extruding/making some.

If i Find the right place i am Going to see about making a big amount.
If i do I will make it available by the foot etc at cost plus shipping/hassle most likely for any one else.

Stay tuned.

Once I get all my parts into the body shop I will have more time to hassle the rubber manufacturers.

If anyone knows of any good companies hit me up :D

Hey Destin,

You need to contact ironpig4x4 https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj25-owners-group/248105-bi-fold-door-parts.html

He had some bifold rubbers made up, and they look pretty nice.

Thanks Dean :D

I will hit him up after i get this all to the body shop :)

I will also need to start a thread or add to mine, about the holes for the canvas fasteners, ( PO had drilled extra holes, and i need to determine how many fasteners came stock, and at what measurement intervals )
