I received an email from someone who recognized me as we were heading up to the north end of Chehalis on Sunday.
He politely mentioned that the pack leader at that moment was driving rather quickly, and had to do some sudden steering corrections as the vehicles neared each other on a corner.
I will take this opportunity to remind everyone that just because the road seems empty, anything can be coming around the next corner at any time.
Be it another 4x4, a loaded logging truck (yes they do travel on weekends at times), a loaded tractor trailer hauling an oversize excavator (personal experience and not one I care to repeat), a loaded city folks family sedan wandering all over the road looking at the trees, and even more commonly, a loaded driver sliding around the corner.
The "posted" speed limit I think is 50 kph, so try to keep it around that. Stay on your side of the road around corners, and keep your headlights on! It is amazing how well another driver can at least see them cutting through the impenetrable walls of dust.
