sounds like your askin the right question, but to clarify, its the 87 SAS'd truck??

positve means you gotta remove a shim or make one smaller. without lookin at it, i dont know where you should strt, but having done many, i usually start with .30mm and add or subtract .10mm as needed.


make sure your top and bottom is tight, as you tug the tire,

retorque the trunion nuts to 80 ft/lbs
 
Thanks wristy, I'll try that. but this has occurred within the past two weeks, I'm afraid that the axle may be bent but don't know for sure just yet. here's a pic (never mind the drawing).

well could be bent. but when that occors it goes negative.generally

Bends causing positive caster angle changes can happen, but usually it is because it got dropped hard on the axle housing. There would be gash on the bottom side if that happened. I've also read about one that happened because they torqued the u-bolts holding the axle to the leaf springs way to hard.

I would also check wheel runout. Is the wheel still good and not bent. A bent wheel could make it look like it has a greater caster angle than it really has.
