I finally got around to trying to change my front shocks yesterday. The front of my 4runner is lifted about 4 inches with stock torsion bars not cranked. This sounded like an easy job until I found the previous owner had the front end apart before and put the bottom shock bolts through backwards so I couldn't get the bolt out without hitting the axle shaft. Now we finally figured out how to get the bolt out, the shock body itself is hitting the bump stop for the lower control arm that is bolted to the frame. They are pro-comp es3000 shocks for a 4in lift. If I remove the bumpstop itself it might give me a little more clearance. Anyone else have this problem?? I'm also planning to change my hubs over now that it it partially disassembled on the lift, anything special I need to do there?? Or is it pretty much plug and play? Thanks as always for the input.

Well I think my problem is the Rancho kit with the ball joint spacers. I tried some smaller bodied shocks off of a gm truck and they still rub the lower bumpstop. I took the bumpstop off but I'm afraid when I actually get to take it offroad they are going to rub the bumpstop mount. This is driving me crazy.
