Hello
I have stuffed longfield 30 spline in my hj61 front axle made fully bulletproof
except my ring and pinion gear
the problem is the drive on the wrong side?

I looked a little on the ring and pinion gear I have and can see it puts pressure on the small tapered bearing

'm on and turn the entire differential housing 180 degrees?
but it is centert?
but will make the draw on the right side of the ring gear and put pressure on the large bearing on the pinion?

the problem here would then be that it must run backwards to move forward by
Does anyone know if any of the other Toyota transfers run opposite to each other
I think that will solve the problem with the front axle

thank you in advance
I'm not so good at American then used translate
I come from denmark

I think what you're saying is that in the front end the pinion gear drives the heel ( back side) of the ring gear teeth. That is correct with this differential. There are ring gear sets called reverse cut ring and pinions
but in the Land cruiser world only the late wagons ( FJ80 and later ) have them. The standard gears in your 60 work fine the way Toyota built them. I wouldn't worry about it

I think he's asking if he turned the axle upside-down, so a 9.5" diff was essentially operating as a high-pinion differential, would he run into problems. Therefore, the pinion would be driving the front side of the ring gear teeth, not the back.

Would there be problems?

I kill my front pinion bearings
If i put my diff opside Down
and make a gear that turn my front shaft other Way
Then it Will work
Hope you understand mé

I've heard of people having problems with the front diff due to giving it heaps in reverse, like snatching another truck out of a bog in reverse causing a lot of load on the front diff pinion...
I always snatch only in forward direction!

I have a question:

what makes you think you need to improve the front diff?

they never ever give any trouble. we've run the stock setup on rock crawlers with 37-39" tires, lockers and V8s and not broken a ring and pinion or wasted any diff bearings.

then again, I've seen what you guys do to rigs in the formula offroad races. pretty awesome. but if you were running your rig in an event like that, you'd have a build dana 60 in the front like the rest of the competitors .......

There is no reason to worry about that since it is not a reverse cut gear. When you are in reverse, the front gear set is rotating and "loading" in the same way the rear does when moving forward. Putting a big load on a reverse cut gear in reverse is something I would avoid since they are generally a smaller gear set and combined with the 20% reduction in strength when going backwards makes it far more likely to break when compared to the Cruiser's setup.
