Gents/Ladies,

Doing a front brake/bearing service and used a standard punch instead of a brass to remove the bearing shoe. (I'm an idiot, I know)
Is the hub toast? Many thanks in advance!

Will have no negative effect on the new race seating properly. Just clean up any burs that remain and use a proper race driver

Also for future reference. Heating up the hub surface around the race area with map gas will help tremendously with race removal and installation.

I think it should be fine. Just polish it off and clean it up, grease up your new race and punch it in carefully. Use your old race as a "cap" on top of the new race to punch it in, so you don't have to punch directly into the new race and damage it. You will need to use a Dremel and slice a Cut through the old race, sothat when you tap it in , it has ability to compress as needed otherwise the old race will get stuck. The race will provide a smooth surface for the bearing to ride on.
