Vacuum line hell? Is this the 60? whats the deal?

Ok, first off, relax. This is one of those rights-of-passage as a 60 series owner. Every 60 owner goes through this in the beginning, and it can be frustrating. I am attaching a good picture that will help you route the lines properly. Use the pictures in the Emission FSM along with this one and you'll get them straightened out no problem. If you want to take a drive out to Wilmette, I am working at the station tonight and would be more than happy to help you, although I think you will get more satisfaction doing it yourself. Check this out...

In that case it is really important to have the Emissions FSM as it details each system. When I desmogged my 60 I just used that octopus of metal tubing as passageways for the few vac lines I had left. Many of them were left open to atmosphere. The important thing is to make sure you are hooking up to the correct ends of the octopus as so many of those tubes are on top of each other it can be confusing to trace them sometimes.

Just do one system at a time and most importantly make sure all the vac ports on the carb are going somewhere or plugged.

I believe the air injection system and the EGR system are the two main systems that are removed.

pretty sure the octopus is gone.

good to hear! I always knew there was a good little truck burried in there. All it needs is someone who can stay on top of it. It was a little over Rays head.

That ok if they pass so long as they do'nt run over me like they try when i'm on my bike. I plan on TFT so I can have a tech inspection :hillbilly:

Ill try to remember all the things I did to that truck before TFT so maybe I can help.....or you guys will have someone to point your finger at. :frown:

Though in my defense I wanted Ray to do alot more to complete the drive train swap, and just to keep up on maint. So I will bring Ray and we can all point at him. :D

I blame you Phil.....If you were here right now, I would point at you....
In fact I'm pointing in your general direction right now.
