How do you think a mandrel bent 2x4x3/16" frame would compare in strength to a factory hzj79 frame? My frame rails are prezelled pretty good and the hours it would take to get them serviceable again would easily cost more than having a couple new frame members bent up. This would also help with my legalization of the rig (home built frame) and allow me to stretch it for a crewcab body if I decide to do that. I'd move all the crossmembers, mounts , brackets over from the old frame so it would look normal (even stock maybe) to most eyes.

I'd just choose 3x5x1/4" and avoid all question about strength but finding anyone to bend that for less than the price of a new-in-box frame has proven impossible.

I think the strenght in the landcruiser chassis comes from its ability to flex. If your new frame can do that it should be ok.
Ive seen some stretched cruiser frames on 105 and 75 series crack when they have had locally done extensions.

Maybe a narrowed 60 series frame could be used, but they are probably scarce your way as well
