the 105s are 1.5 ton trailers, you need a deuce and a half or a full size hummer for those. they are cheap because an average person cant use one.

The ones matt posted were 101s, 3/4 ton trailers. still bigger than what I would want for a chaser/camp trailer, but great for a utility trailer.

Sorry! But someone got a heck of a deal.

we bought a tractor, and it is really driving home to me that I want/need a truck.

where is the best place to find the new body style tacomas? how common are the factory locked axles, do all TRDs have it?

I think all V6's do. The 4 banger does not.

The first gen TRD Off Road and second gen TRD Off Road have the rear e-locker. The second gen TRD Sport has a clutch pack true limited slip diff up until they got ATRAC "fake" LSD. The TRD Sport with "ATRAC LSD" doesn't have anything the SR5 package doesn't have other than color keyed mirrors, bumpers, and door handles, except for the Bilstein shocks. It's a ripoff. Either way, as long as you get the TRD Off Road and not the Sport you've got the e-locker. Beware stickers though, it's a rectangular dash button on the lower left of the steering column. At some point the 2nd gen TRD OR got DAC as well, and there's a button for that too.

AFAIK, you can't get a 5 lug in a TRD OR with a locker.

Good luck finding one at a reasonable price. The resale is retarded on them. I almost ALMOST felt bad selling mine for $27,000 with a basketball sized dent in the bumper. Then again, it's worth what someone will pay.

Also, the seats are different fabric in the TRD's, so if the seats are regular SR5 fabric but the ad says "TRD" of any type, be skeptical.

to that point:
Jesus, well I wanted to get a white four door. Where the hell do you find a 07-11 four door 4x4 tacoma in Alabama. They are ALLLLLLLL PreRunners. WTF is that all they sell here?

I'm going to have to go to Texas to buy a truck I swear.

Nothing on AL.com
Nothing on cars.com
Nothing on Autotrader.com
in AL

Looking for under 70k miles under $27000. I don't care is its 6spd or auto or any color but the light blue (wife hates it). There was one grey one on AL.com but I called and it was already sold.

I think I'll find a tundra before a taco. Afaik tundras even trd doesn't have a locker not that it's a huge deal, but it would be nice to have.

The big thing is the limited aftermarket on tundra. The only ARB is that stupid Sahara bumper with the center hoop and no side/headlight protection.
All the other bumpers are very bro.

I'd get a utility trailer and keep the 80 after you put that locked rear axle under the back!

Kait said that. The thing is my back really hurts driving my 80. I guess I need one with leather seats because my back didnt hurt driving Luke's to Colorado.

Matt was right on when he said going from an 80 to a trooper was a lateral move. They are almost exactly the same except the trooper steering is a little tighter. I still need to adjust the 80 like clank was telling me about. But the seats/driving position are better in the trooper.

I really like Kati's moms tundra. I have never driven a 2ng gen taco.

The seats in the TRD package (either) on the 2nd gen tacos are like la-z-boy's. Nice bolstering, good cushion, good tough cloth. I miss em. They are better than hundo leather. Driving to and from Moab in a week my back never felt anything but comfy. Driving the 100 to the beach this past week, that leather started feeling kinda hard-ish.

The gold truck driver's seat hurts my back. It's the fact that the lumbar support is shot. I'm gonna see about getting some foam and just re-stuffing it to be convex instead of concave. I think that will help lots. Matt swapped the seat bottom cushions L to R, but the passenger seat back is still lots more comfy to me just because it has better lower back support.

If you want someone to do it, there's a place in Pelham called The Trim Shop that does good work. I've had a couple of folks recommend them to re-craft seats.

I have known Tacoma resell value is stupid high. But I have never really looked closely enough to realize that seeing 6 year old trucks pushing 100k miles listed for 90% their original sticker isnt unusual. one guy on tacoma world, thinking about trading in on a wrangler, claims the dealer offered him 2k more than what he paid for the truck (7500 miles and how ever many months ago) as trade in value.
I have one pulled up now, a 2010 with 75k miles and he is asking more than 2010 sticker price.

Getting rid of the seats? You really hate that XC90 don't you?

Actually the seats are just about the only thing I really like about that car. They are unbelievably comfortable.

these are the ones I was talking about:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/showpost.php?p=7395282&postcount=147

bought them to put into my old(now your) 80 and never got around to finishing the brackets. The wiring for the recline would have to be figured out and wired in also. I still have the controls for the passenger seat so it should be pretty easy to figure out.

I would pretty much give them away at this point to get rid of them.

Intrigued about those seats for the 80.
