So, a while back we purchased a 2010 LX-570 but immediately had problems with the electronics. After a lot of conversations with the dealer, we got tired of feeling like the truck was unreliable. It had been a "Certified Lexus" truck but upon trading it in, we found out that it had actually been in an accident. Not sure but we think this may have been to source of the electronics problems. The local Lexus dealer would only send it back, with "could not duplicate" comments. I loved a lot of aspects of that truck, but just didn't feel it was reliable. We used that truck to pull our travel trailer, a Lance 2175. After that we traded the trailer in for a larger 2375, which our 100 struggled to pull. After looking at all of the pick up options, we knew we wanted to get a newer 200 to tow with.
Fast forward 2 years and my wife has been getting more anxious on getting a newer truck. She was the one who has been looking and sending me links when she would find something she liked. This one became available and after looking through the pictures, I called. The mileage was excellent (just over 15K) and the price was right. The modifications were icing on the cake, as it were.
Here are a list of the major modifications to date:
1. TJM T13 front bumper
2. Slee rear bumper, with tire carrier and ladder swing outs
3. White Knuckle sliders
4. Budbuilt full skid plates
5. IBS-DBS dual battery system, with Optima yellowtop and Slee 2nd battery tray
6. ARB air compressor
7. Tough Dog adjustable lift kit
8. Total Chaos UCAs
9. Nitto Trail Grappler mud terrain tires
Seeing all of the modifications, I figured that the original owner must be on here somewhere... so I searched. Original search was for the year and color of the truck, which brought up some posts. I was then able to pin down the original owner,
@MilkmanVX and reach out to him prior to the purchase to ask some questions. He was gracious enough to answer and provide a lot of input that really let me know what I was getting into. Thank you again
@MilkmanVX !!!
So, now we have "Wee Ian", or Little John, as it were...
I'll be posting up more often these days since I am back in a 200 now.
