Floor Mats

I don't have the ability to post a photo right now but it is a little hook that snaps into a hole in the floor, just feel around for the hole. We have owned several Lexus LS's that use the same system for both the driver and passenger seats and the hooks do break. I bet the previous owner broke it and didn't replace the hook. I don't know off hand what they cost but it is probably around $10 at your local Toyota dealer and probably about $2-3 more for the exact same part at the Lexus dealership.

I bought a pack of two from my local Toyota dealer for less than three bucks. The OEM clip works just fine with the WeatherTech mats—I don't remember a WeatherTech clip being included with my mats.

That is because they don't come with a clip just the hole the OEM clip goes through. I thought I quoted high but would rather err on the high side so he would get a pleasant suprise at the dealership. Lord knows we don't see many of those at the dealership.

Guys, I appreciate the replies, however, I have no hole in the drivers floor carpet to put the clip in - see this pic.

Thoughts? Are your vehicles the same?

Wow, you are right, someone stole your hole !

I've got them on both my 100-series rigs.

Has your carpet been replaced ?

I don't intend to sound alarmist but a check for other signs of flood salvage might be a good idea.

Of course maybe they just don't have them in 07 models.

Mine is not the same. My '02 has the hook in the carpet, with the hole in the floor mat. Just the opposite of what you are showing. :meh:

Again, I appreciate the replies.

Wrt flood damage, I did look around a little and can't see anything obvious.

I guess I'll wait for an 07 owner to chime in - maybe this is the way they came.

Thanks guys! Keith.

This looks the same to me it is just the hook has come out off the hole in the carpet.

Hi MidTex, I don't understand your statement, as I don't have a hole in the carpet?

What I meant is that looks like the stock hook. I was replying to LCHardDriver and the way I read his post was that the hook in his LC is attached to the carpet not the matt as shown in the photo. My point was that the hook in the photo is probably the same hook that is in his Cruiser. It is just that the photo shows it attached to the matt and not the carpet. If you look at the hook in the photo you can see the clip at the bottom of the hook that snaps into the hole in the carpet.
As to why your Cruiser doesn't have the hole I have no idea. Hopefully someone else does. Good luck.

Pics of XTreme Catch All

I'm really happy with the Xtreme version. Yes, they are expensive but check out how they look:D You can actually push them under the plastic molding for a really custom look. I'm probably going to get the cargo mat as well. I was worried about the color but what a great match it turned out to be.

I'm really digging these Catch All Xtreme mats in gray, but can only seem to find them in tan online. I know it's a long shot but has anyone purchased these in gray recently? If so, where did you get them? Thanks!

I'll add to this as I just went through this dilemma.

I did a lot of looking around and didn't care for the much loved WeatherTechs. Had a friend with them in his Chevy 2500 and didn't like the extra high sides and seemed like they warped pretty easily and didn't stay flush with the floor in a number of areas. I'm also not super concerned with needing the mats to be able to hold a gallon of water as I generally get boots pretty clear of snow before getting in.

I wanted OEM rubber mats but after calling dealerships found out that you can't really find them anymore after the unintended acceleration issue. I talked to a guy from AutoAnything.com and was sold on Lloyd brand mats for the front and 2nd row and a Flexomat for the rear. The Lloyd brands looked good and are heavy gauge rubber so they'll stay put and not warp. Same applies to the Flexomat, heavy, thick rubber. The 2nd row is one solid piece so I don't have to worry about the middle collecting dirt. And the Flexomat in the cargo area has holes for the 3rd row AND it's "extended" to reach to the feet of those sitting in the third row.

So that's the combo I ended up with. I just ordered today so I'll update with pics but I'm excited about this option.

Thanks spaber05, I'd love to see pics of that combo. I'm also a no go for the weathertechs as I have seen first hand some warped ones.

Alright, after a couple of weeks and waiting on a re-carpeting for the cargo area to happen, I finally have a verdict on my winter mats.

First off, the Lloyd Northridge mats for front and 2nd row. I'm very impressed with the fit and the weight of the rubber. Now I know they don't have the edges like everybody loves, but overall I'm very happy with the look. The driver side comes with a hole for the factory hook, a nice plus. The 2nd row is one piece which is what I really wanted and didn't seem to be common, great coverage overall, very happy.

For the cargo area, I went with the Flexomats "extended" mat. The fit isn't quite as good as the Lloyd, but it is a nice texture and weight. Overall, the only thing "wrong" is that it is a bit longer than it needs to be, so that if you pop up the 2nd row, it gets in the way when you go to put it back down. This is why they call it "extended" because the regular would not give you the coverage under the feet of the 3rd row occupants.

Not a big deal as I'd rather have more to work with than less, but just something to note. It's nice that it's one piece that goes all the way up to the back of the 2nd row, eliminating the need for a mat for the feet of those sitting in the 3rd row. I also like how far it extends out wide to go around the 3rd row seats all the way out the left and right. I'll just have to trim up the front a bit but I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for something with a lot of coverage over the entire rear cargo area.

I hope this helps some people who are looking for alternatives to the WeatherTech. I bought them off of AutoAnything.com and was happy with customer services, price, and speedy shipment.

Thanks guys!

I would do the weathertech again in the front and middle, but my next free $$ project is to replace the back carpet with dynomat and thick rubber lining in the back. Too many spills to consider otherwise and the carpet looks shabby back there already.

While I'm thrilled with the first two rows of weathertech, not sure I would splurge again on the 3rd row.

I had Weathertech and Husky previously. They were nice and functional.

I got a set of the Kraco ones at BJs. $16.99 and a perfect match and fit.

Gotta love a deal. Spend money on other, more exciting things.

@ spaber05

I like the second row and cargo mats. Do they stay put, or slide around at all? Was any trimming needed?

Thanks for posting!
