My wife was driving our 97 lc today and said a dash light came on and was blinking at her. She said it was a red circle with an exclamation point in it and was flashing off and on for a little bit. She said it is on below the tachometer. I have never seen this and can't seem to find anything in the search. Does anyone know what this means? Is it urgent?

That's typically a TPMS indicator (tire pressure monitoring system) but I believe the land cruiser didn't come with that system until 2005.

Why is it always "My wife was driving our..." when this stuff happens?

:hhmm:

It may have been the "low brake fluid" light, I'd check it.

I thought the parking brake light illuminates when you're low on brake fluid?

I believe the parking brake light and the low brake fluid light are the same light. It comes on when the parking brake handle is pulled or when the brake fluid level is low. If the light was blinking/flashing I would check the fluid level first, then the parking brake if the fluid level was within limits.

That light on my 93 says "brake." Not sure if it changed to a symbol for 95-97.

I'm at work and my Cruiser is at home, so I can't go check it out, but I believe you're right. The parking brake light says BRAKE and the low brake fluid indicator light has its own icon (I believe it's a circle with something (can't remember what) in the center. I'm confusing myself, so I'll shut up now.

Well I have been driving it all day since then and I haven't seen anything. Mystery unsolved for now. I think she must have been confused or something. I'm thinking she saw either the Brake light come on for low fluid or the low oil light. But if I see it again I will let everyone know. Thanks for the replies.

In my 97 it is the same light for low fluid and parking brake. The light is red and says BRAKE.
