Sorry to give you a hard time but the best and perhaps only way is to get the axle and the e-brake cable from a donor vehicle.

well i don't have an e-brake im searching around for another axle. i'd rather convert mine so i don't have to re-do all the link brackets.
might just run the semi till it breaks.

so pretty much the only way is to use junkyard parts?

The later full float disc set up is a direct bolt in. No redoing links. You do need 16 in wheels though.

Im still not sure what the motivation for finding a kit is? You can find fzj rear axles all the time for $400.

well from looking around the first one i found was 750$ for one.
and it's going in this so it's not really "bolt on" even though i think the lower link mounts are the stock ones

if ur putting it in that id just go d60 or 14bt normaly u can find them cheaper for a toy ff axle and the will be stronger

Considering the WARN full float kits for Dana 44s go for ~$750 I think you'd be well advised to go with Toy OEM stuff. You aren't going to be able to buy retail anything for less than that.

HTH

hmm might just have my shafted heat treated and cryoed for now and see how it goes. i really wana try to keep this buggy all toyota. if i ever swap axles i'd go to a diamond or a spider housing. might just save up and get a diamond built with full float for the fj80 third.

so concesus is there is no kit and the only way to do it is to use oem parts or get another axle?
thanks guys.
im very new to all things land cruiser, i can hang with the mini truck stuff.
thanks for the info

We have a lot of experience in the subject because 3/4 of all the 80 cruisers assembled here (all 93 and up have 16" wheel) came with rear drums and the most popular game is to find a full floating disc brake rear axle to replace the OEM semifloating axle, you will notice the numbers doesn't add so guess what: all full floating top trim VX series cruisers are suddenly vanishing ergo been stolen to provide the required parts, and any cruiser who ends legally in a junkyard is bought in the following 24 hours :bang:

yup the only one i have found so far im pretty sure had a e-locker the junkyard called it a difflock and they wnated 750$ for it. for 850 i can get a diamond built to my specs. i dont need/want an elocker and the only other one i have found so far the guy wanted 500$ with no third plus 100$ shipping.
i think im gonna just run it for awhile. it's been wheeled hard for 3 years now no breakage. so i might just get the stockers cryoed for now and wait till i can afford a diamond

Just a question on the cryo.... how much does that nomally run??

bobby long i think quoted me something like a couple hundred an axle. so roughly 400$ or so for front and rear is what i was able to get from it. but im not really sure he couldn't give me a total estimate. with shipping i bet it could get pricey though
i found a place local that did it for dirt track guys and used to be into desert racing so i'm gonna go talk to him and see what he can do
