I've got a busted oem power antenna on my 88 FJ62.

I took the antenna spool off to replace the mast and the top of the main plastic gear popped off. Bad day....

  1. Does Denso still sell the parts used to build the antenna? If so, how does one get a hold of these parts?
  2. Do the other OEM power antennas of the same year use the same parts? FJ62 antennas are just too rare and expensive.
Will a 80 series antenna or 88-90 Toyota ?? power antenna work to replace the busted gear?

Thanks for any insight and help.

My wife bent the antenna part on the garage door, now it’s 8in from going all the way down.

can that part be replaced, bent back?

Yea - a new mast can be installed. What do you want for the antenna. It will cost $50 for a new mast.

Unfortunately nothing yet. I have started rebuilding my powered antenna few years back and i have everything in place except this plastic gear. I have 3d printed multiple copies through a local supplier(fig1), but he never was able to get it down to the same shape as the original (fig2). The sit on the motor nice, and it would spin freely too, mater of fact I installed it and put the new mast in and it retracted the mast just fine, I pushed up to extend it, and as soon as there was some resistance due to the new plastic mast wire, it was too much for the gear to handle. So every time I try a new one it pups out of the motor drive pen and ruins the gears(fig2)(excuse my dirty fingees). If any body here that can design this part for us to 3d print, i imagine a lot of folks in this community would appreciate that including me.
